Inmotion Review:
Overview:
Inmotion currently offers three shared plans as well as three dedicated server plans. These plans range in features such as disk space, bandwidth allowance, additional domains/subdomains and eCommerce capabilities. These plans are fairly competitive, and offer good value, however they lack some of the bells and whistles found in other services.
Customer Support:
Inmotion now offers 24/7 phone support. They also offer 24/7 email support, a support forum, and an online knowlegebase and tutorials.
Account Management/Control Panel:
Inmotion uses cPanel, perhaps the most popular web hosting control panel around today. cPanel provides access to support, e-mail & FTP account management, usage statistic information, database creation and management, server configuration settings, amongst others. You can see a screenshot below.
Data Center:
Inmotion's tier 1 data center is located in Los Angeles, California. They have several redundant OC-48 connections all tied together with BGP4 routing technology. They use Dell PowerEdge servers, each with 2-4GB of RAM. They run nightly backups. All servers have redundant power with deisel generator backups.
Bonus Tools / Free Extras:
Chat, Bulletin Board, Guestbook, Web builder amongst others. The osCommerce shopping cart is not available in their basic plan.
Summary:
Inmotion may be a good choice if you do not need unlimited domains, unlimited mySQL databases, and the extra bells and whistles offered by our higher ranked hosts. |
