midPhase Review:
Overview:
midPhase is a relatively new company (founded in May, 2003), but they are also one of the fastest growing due to their commitment to customer support, high performance hosting, and competitve pricing. One unique thing about midPhase is that they have a special plan available (their Pro-PHASE plan) which allows you to host unlimited domains as well as receive unlimited bandwidth usage! This plan is a few dollars more per month than their standard plan, however. They also offer a Windows hosting plan.
Customer Support:
midPhase
offers 24/7 phone support, e-mail support, knowledgebase, and an online support forum. Their telephone support appeared well trained and staffed. Most of our midPhase support e-mails were responded to within 30 minutes with accurate and helpful responses.
Account Management/Control Panel:
midPhase's Control Center is a customized control panel based on cPanel, perhaps the most popular web hosting control panel around today. The midPhase Control Center provides access to support, e-mail & FTP account management, usage statistic information, database creation and management, server configuration settings, amongst others. You can see a screenshot below.
Data Center:
The midPhase data center utilizes the Equinix IBX Center in Chicago, Illinois. The Equinix IBX datacenter is a multi-million dollar facility which provides access to every major Tier 1 network and most Tier 2 networks on the internet. They utilize many types of redundancy and backup power as well as state-of-the-art security methods to protect the integrity of the facility.
